SpaceXAI (the AI arm under the post-merger SpaceX structure) released Grok 4.7 on 21 September. It uses a larger base model than Grok 4.6, trained with a longer reinforcement-learning run weighted toward multi-hour tasks. The company reports higher scores on CursorBench 4.0 (46.3 % vs 40.4 %), Terminal-Bench, DeepSWE, EEBench and AA-Briefcase while keeping the same $2 / $6 per-million-token pricing and roughly the same speed as 4.6. A faster-serving tier is offered at double the output price. The model is live in Cursor, Grok Build, the Grok API and third-party routers; context remains 500 k tokens with text-and-image input and tool use. Internal Tesla and SpaceX engineers have already used overnight agents built on the new model for FSD and Cybercab work. Safeguards were recalibrated for stronger jailbreak resistance while keeping legitimate research refusals low.
Why it matters: Grok is no longer just a chatbot. The same stack that trains on SpaceX engineering data and Tesla autonomy logs is now shipping a production agent that stays on long coding and document workflows at frontier price-performance. That shortens the loop between model improvement and real hardware work inside the rest of the Musk companies.

SpaceX rolled Super Heavy Booster 21 to Orbital Launch Pad 2 on 20–21 September. Flight 14, previously carrying an FAA airspace window for 22 September, is now targeted no earlier than 28 September pending regulatory approval for the orbital profile. The mission is planned as Starship’s first true orbital flight: Ship 41 would complete roughly six orbits at ~275 km, deploy 26 operational Starlink V3 satellites (each rated ~1 Tbps downlink), then deorbit for a Pacific splashdown. Prior Flight 13 (July) had flown V3 hardware only on a suborbital path. A single successful V3 deployment would add capacity equivalent to roughly ten Falcon 9 V2 Mini missions.
Why it matters: Starlink capacity growth is now gated by Starship rather than Falcon 9 cadence. Putting the first revenue V3 birds into stable orbit is the concrete step that turns the Gen3 / high-bandwidth constellation from filing language into operational reality and supports the longer-term orbital-compute thesis.

Czechia recognises FSD Supervised — seventh EU market

Czechia recognised the Dutch RDW provisional approval for Tesla FSD Supervised under the EU Article 39 mechanism, becoming the seventh EU country (after Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Belgium and Slovenia). Tesla Europe stated the software rollout will begin soon on Hardware 4 vehicles with a Europe-localised v14 build. The system remains SAE Level 2: driver must supervise at all times. An EU-wide Technical Committee vote is scheduled for early October that could open the remaining member states if a qualified majority is reached.
Why it matters: Each additional national recognition expands the addressable fleet for supervised autonomy and builds political and data momentum toward broader European clearance. New product surface includes voice calls and memos, 1Password vault integration, inline forms and drafts for email/Slack, account switching, and desktop traffic routing. Tesla simultaneously enabled Grok connectors inside the vehicle so drivers can manage inbox, calendar and files hands-free. Musk noted the usage growth rate exceeds prior company products.

Musk stated The Boring Company is working on a “simple, precursor Hyperloop tunnel between Austin and San Antonio (>200 mph)” that would cut a congested 2.5-hour drive to a consistent sub-30-minute trip. The company replied that it would be “excited and honored” to build it. No route, permits, cost, financing or timeline were published. Separately, Vegas Loop construction updates showed ongoing cross-passage work and a plan to double stations by year-end.
Why it matters: The claim keeps the inter-city high-speed tunnel thesis alive after the recent $3 B Series D, but it remains a statement of intent rather than a permitted project. Vegas Loop remains the only operating reference system.
